    Fleet Trailer Program Manager

    Purpose of the Position:

    • Lead our Trailer and Engineering Program Strategy
    • Manage on budget/on time/on spec for all tralier related assets across the organization
    • Driving standardization and continuous improvement in people/processes/and equipment
    • Manage all functions of maintenance, refurbishments, engineering, procurement and analysis for the North American trailer fleet


    • Develop and lead our 10-year new and rehab trailer replacement strategy
    • Lead our engineering specification reviews to develop and sustain our distribution equipment standards across our organization
    • Establish quality plans and accountability for trailers
    • Prepare business case justification for bulk trailer growth, replacement & refurbishment, tube trailer retests and upgrades (e.g. ABS, disk brakes ergonomic improvements, safety and efficiency upgrades etc.)
    • Budget/Manage capital expenditures for our bulk and cylinder trailers
    • Publish trailer maintenance bulletins
    • Develop enterprise wide Trailer Preventative Maintenance (PM) standards & plans with special emphasis on increased reliability & total cost of ownership (TOC) reduction
    • Manage trailer and trailer component warranty programs
    • Organize spec review for trailers
    • Disposal of trailers efficiently
    • Purchase/Resale/Scrap tube trailers, bulk tankers, chassis and pallet trailers
    • Manage third party maintenance vendors (i.e. review all invoices > $5k and any odd trending)
    • Complete Modification of Change process for trailers
    • Design/Manage build of pallet trailers
    • Manage tube trailer retests
    • Investigate trailer accidents as required
    • Approve all North American trailer related fleet invoices within delegation of authority
    • Lead continuous design improvement focus groups for trailers
    • Subject Matter Expert/POC for maintenance questions/issues from field locations
    • Participate in the preparation of training material for location management, drivers & mechanics on new trailer designs and upgrades
    • Strategic use of spare trailers to reduce rentals & leases in North America
    • Participate as an active member of the Region Americas team, providing innovation, best practice, and working collaboratively to support world class achievement across the Region.


    Required Skills:

    • Budget management and development experience
    • Education and Training skills to ensure current policies and procedures are followed
    • Presentation skills to "sell" groups on new and innovative processes or technology to take safety and performance to the next level
    • Time management skills to be able to manage multiple projects for multiple departments
    • Strong collaborative, team building, and change management capabilities


    Required Education:

    • Bachelor degree or 10+ years industry experience required

    Other Qualifications:

    • Knowledge and experience of specifying/maintenance/repair of trailers & equipment
    • Industrial gas transport equipment specifying/maintenance/repair experience
    • Experience with DOT licensing and permits including those specific to industrial gas transportation
    • Experience with EPA and OSHA regulations pertaining to shop and transport equipment/cryogenic tanker repairs/maintenance/operation
    • Continuous Process Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) experience
    • Intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point
    • Knowledge of SAP
    • Superior organizational skills
