  • Overview

    Manage the fixed assets of Linde in Region Americas(RAS) to ensure the mechanical integrity of pressure systems, infrastructure equipment, and exchanger systems (including vessels, piping, cooling water systems) are specified, procured, operated and maintained optimally in order to reduce risk, ensure safety, and minimize life cycle cost


    Develop appropriate reliability and life extension strategies and plans that are consistent with the objectives of the business

    • Build stronger organizational relationships with equipment vendors including exclusive development projects thereby ensuring that the products are fit for purpose and that products are delivered within acceptable times
    • Establish and facilitate teams of experts that specialize in the various cycles of infrastructure equipment life. (specification/procurement, installation/commissioning, operations/maintenance and decommissioning/disposal)
    • Drive best practice into each of the life-cycle phases
    • Facilitate procedures and processes are in place that will define how the various parties work with each other
    • Develop contingency plans that ensure that crises are managed effectively and that the cost of downtime for any event is minimized. Ensure unplanned events are comprehensively investigated, root cause defined and lessons learned communicated appropriately.
    • Facilitate relevant associated techniques, standards and procedures that will contribute to the safety and reliability of infrastructure equipment and take into account the appropriate level of business risk e.g. spares policy, planned maintenance procedures, overhaul methodologies and root cause analyses of failure
    • Facilitate that LE and LG work seamlessly together in respect of equipment specification and procurement
    • Direct and/or lead the assessment of infrastructure equipment as part of the due diligence process associated with the take over of plant from previous owners
    • Work closely with Procurement on evaluating 3rd party services, preparation of work scopes, specifications, KPIs and surveillance
    • The role is not expected to have direct subordinates within the Global Ops team but will be expected to liaise closely with reliability engineers within the RBU’s, acting as a focal point and subject matter expert for the infrastructure equipment functional area


    Required Skills:

    • Knowledge of the design, operation, and maintenance of vessels, exchangers, piping systems and cooling water equipment
    • Basic understanding of water treatment and corrosion control as it applies to process equipment
    • Knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques related to such equipment
    • Knowledge of the primary elements of regulation associated with infrastructure equipment
    • Knowledge and experience of the inspection and testing technologies associated with pressure systems
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • English preferred, second language is desired


    Required education:

    Bachelor Degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Chemical or Civil

    Required qualifications:

    Minimum 2 Years in a related industrial environment to include experience of engineering projects, equipment specification, operation, maintenance, inspection and testing

    Demonstrated ability to set and lead strategy

    Other qualifications:

    An advanced degree is an advantage
