    Linde is currently seeking an I&E Technician to join the team in the Torrance, CA area.  

    Responsibilities

    As one of our Instrument Technicians, you will:


    • Optimize and troubleshoot PLC, instrumentation and electrical systems at a wide range of Linde technology including CO2 plants, Air Separation Units, N2 generators and PSA systems across the Zone.

    • Support and drive the Linde Preventative Maintenance program primarily around instrumentation and electrical systems

    • As integral team member you will plan your work and schedule your time with the team in the Zone to accomplish the assigned tasks in a cost effective and timely manner.

    • Travel time is tracked and paid as work time.

    • Linde furnished vehicle and any tools needed to accomplish the job.

    • Specialized training as needed to continue to advance your technical abilities.


     

    Qualifications

    Do you have what it takes?


     


    The ideal candidate will:


    • Have an associate’s degree or certificate in instrumentation, industrial control/automation or related technical discipline.

    • Experience in instrumentation, industrial control/automation and PLC systems.

    • Familiarity with 4-20 mA transmitters, electro-pneumatic control loops, pneumatic control systems, control valves, PLC controllers, analyzers, and electrical systems (480 V and below).

    • Be on call to take calls and make appropriate plans for troubleshooting activities across the Zone.

    • Be located in Torrance, CA office when not traveling.

    • Physically able to perform all duties required which may involve among other things; bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting and carrying loads of up to 50 lbs.

    • Have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.

    • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot 4-20 mA transmitter and electro-pneumatic control loops and pneumatic control systems consisting of I/Ps, solenoid valves, quick exhausts, actuators, regulators and proportional/integral controllers both stand alone and cascaded. 

    • Possess basic algebra, fractions/percentages, and unit conversion skills

    • ISA certification preferred.

    • Have computer proficiency.
