    Responsibilities

    What you will enjoy doing:


     


    The primary purpose of this position is to own and manage the material costing and pricing process in specialty gases mixtures and pure gases. The secondary purpose of this position is a) to support the customer service center with specialty gases product, application and market knowledge, b) to provide additional capacity in the management of material master data and material safety data sheets / information, c) to support the procurement function with information in the sourcing and purchasing of specialty gases raw materials / buy-out products, and d) to provide additional capacity in the resolution of relevant telequeries. Finally, this position will be responsible for project work in improving specialty gases data management relating to raw materials and finished products.


     


    a) Owns and manages the costing / pricing part of the item creation process to meet service levels.


    b) Manages and keeps current costing calculators, ensures raw material and asset cost data bases are current, works with operations to ensure labor and operational costs are current


    c) Utilizes relevant Linde calculators to cost and price gas mixes, and ensures that these are correctly entered into SAP, and maintained. d) Provides cost / price information to sales / CSC for quotation purposes


    d) Supports CSC with product / market / application related customer queries e) Interfaces with Commercial, Technical, Procurement and Operations in supporting material master, material safety data, and similar requirements, and is responsible for the outcomes of allocated projects in these areas on an ongoing basis.

    Qualifications

    Do you have what it takes?



    • Thorough knowledge of specialty gases and packaged chemicals product ranges, applicable markets and a broad understanding of SG applications in these markets.

    • Competence in using SAP and Microsoft Excel / Access based workbooks / calculators.

    • Thorough technical understanding of the physical and chemical properties of gases, cylinders and the mixed gases manufacturing process.

    • Strong commercial skills to be able to accurately cost and then determine recommended selling prices for new items to achieve profitability guidelines provided by Marketing Management.

    • Ability to plan and execute product and pricing related projects in a technical product environment.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in English (additional languages esp French / Spanish are a strong advantage)


    Required education: Bachelor Degree in Sciences, Chemistry or Chem Eng preferred

    Required qualifications: Minimum 5 Years in Specialty Gases environment (sales, marketing, commercial, technical)
