What you will enjoy doing:
Project Execution and Design (new systems, upgrades, efficiency improvements, & service of existing customer installations):
►Manage all project activities throughout their project lifecycles.
►Manage and direct multiple project teams in regards to all aspects of each project.
►Manage outsourcing of engineering discipline specialists, and project management of consultants, A&E firms and EPC contractors.
►Interface with stakeholders to develop project scope and execute change management process
►Define an execution strategy to enable a high degree of confidence in controlling project scope and budget.
►Communicate design requirements to the process engineering function and manage design decisions and tradeoffs. Or produce detailed design packages of synthesis and purification processes (to include controls and automation) that will be operated safely and efficiently.
►Translate process engineering design work package into a fabrication, construction, installation plan to deliver a safe and cost effective process.
►Determine project phases and execute to fulfill project scope while ensuring that industry standards, guidelines and regulations are met, and that corporate and department standards, procedures and policies are followed.
► Develop project I/Os in accordance with company accounting procedures. Track project budget throughout project and close in accordance with company accounting procedures.
► Develop customer and project specific documentation for the project; installation drawings, risk assessment/HAZOPs, LOPA, PSSR/commissioning procedures, customer presentations/progress reports, customer turnover manual, Lessons Learned/project close-out reports, etc.
►Manage or execute the design of gas handling systems including development of Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, BOMs, and gas panel drawings.
► Provide engineering and project management support to Linde E&PP manufacturing plants (Alpha, NJ; Medford, OR; Raleigh, NC: Freeport, TX and Phoenix, AZ) for new capital projects, expansion and equipment modifications.
► Support RBU Electronics Sales at customer meetings as technical representative.
► Work with local Sales personnel, respond to customer operational issues. Lead troubleshooting activities, diagnose cause, develop and document (EMOC) corrective actions, lead implementation of solutions.
► Address corrective actions and maintain EMOC records for electronics customers and assigned projects.
GAP/HPO and Productivity Goals:
► Identify potential GAP/HPO projects at E&SG plants which have the ability to create cost savings and/or increases in productivity and work with business performance manager to develop GAP/HPO project proposals for submittal to division management.
► Determine parameters and metrics to measure GAP/HPO savings, and apply information collection techniques to gather supporting data.
►Manage more complex GAP projects as a Design and Execution initiative.
► Responsible for and embracing of a culture of safety and accountability for all aspects of one’s Projects. ►Support safety goals and initiatives through the development and implementation of new standards & procedures for electronic customer sites.
► Foster a positive team environment
► Project management responsibility for projects ranging in value from $50,000 to $5MM. The cumulative value of assigned projects will range from of approx. $1.0MM 10.0MM per year.
Do you have what it takes?
▪ Prior Project Management experience in gases or process chemical industries
▪ Experience in the Electronics or Semiconductor industries is highly desirable.
▪ Must be able to travel a minimum of 25%, domestically
▪ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
▪ Knowledge of NFPA 55 Standard for the Storage, Use, and Handling of Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Liquids and CGA standards.
▪ Bachelor Degree in Engineering Discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical)
Masters Degree (a plus) Engineering Discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical)
Minimum 2 Years prior experience in project engineering/management
Minimum 2 Years experience with industrial gases and cryogenics; purification, storage, vaporization, distribution systems and ancillary equipment. Equivalent experience in a related field/industry will be considered
▪ Experience with process equipment engineering; P&IDs, process piping, pressure vessels, instrumentation/controls, process safety reviews (HAZOP) and LOPA.
▪ Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
▪ Highly motivated and able to self-direct
