    Responsibilities

    What you will enjoy doing:

     

    Project Management

    • Work with GBUT execution to provide the business with capital estimates with the appropriate level of accuracy for proposed projects, especially in the upfront stages where GOM order estimates are required to determine go/no go decisions in the project feasibility phase
    • Interface with customer, GBUT execution, Product Management, BAE electronics and any other internal group necessary to successfully execute assigned opportunities.
    • Deliver a quality project while minimizing unbudgeted change orders, ensure that all additional customer imposed costs are recovered from the customer..
    • Interface with local permitting agencies and government authorities as required
    • Ensure that all internal standards and procedures are followed as well as relevant codes and applicable regulations.
    • Maintain effective communication of progress and issues internally and with the customer.
    • Provide formal monthly reports on material variances to scope, schedule or budget or substantial usage of contingency especially prior to the construction phase.
    • Deliver complete project documentation at project conclusion
    • Participate in interdepartmental initiatives
    • Delivery of a safe quality project on schedule and within budget
    • Effective and transparent communication with all Linde affected departments
    • Agreement by Operations that objectives are met, all documentation delivered, and all punch list items resolved/agreed.
    • Complete paper and electronic documentation
    • Absence of issues with contractors

     

    Business Development

    • Work with GBUT execution to determine best technical solution for identified opportunity
    • Preparation of documentation to describe and dimension the opportunity for circulation within RNA management
    • Definition, in conjunction with Account Manager and GBUT execution, of suitable approach to customer both technically and commercially
    • Determine in conjunction with GBUT execution appropriate project structure and proposal content
    • Lead detailed approach to develop business and lead the technical and commercial proposal and presentation to the customer.
    • Negotiate and agree commercial terms for contracts with support of Account Manager and where appropriate, GBUT execution.
    • Maintain customer relationship and maximize the account value and profit and responsible for improving customer satisfaction.
    • Develop and present the business case to RNA Management Team and through CPR process and eventually to Linde Board through the IC process for approval.
    • Monitor project through execution phase to ensure agreed deliverables are met (commercial and technical)
    • Creates high performance culture using performance management & capability development support tools

    Qualifications

    Do you have what it takes?

     

    Required Skills:

    • Knowledge of engineering rules-of-thumb, scaling factors, equipment lead times.
    • Knowledge of codes and regulations as they pertain to industrial gas projects, i.e. ASME particularly B31.1, NEC, building codes, permitting experience.
    • Effective verbal written and presentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with plant personnel.
    • Expert at field phases – managing field construction, check out, commissioning and performance testing and punch list closure.
    • Commercial acumen and negotiation
    • Ability to manage professional and construction contractors
    • Impact and influence


    Required qualifications:

     

    Degree in engineering. MBA a plus.

     

    15+ years experience in project management and business development, preferably in the industrial gases industry with demonstrated ability to develop a complicated technical scope, schedule and budget and consistently deliver to it.
