    Responsibilities

    Purpose of the position:

    • To provide technical support and leadership to transport operations and maintenance facilities.
    • Analyze monthly financial and maintenance performance within the area in coordination with location managers in order to drive cost reduction.
    • Drive on-time Preventative and Corrective Maintenance (PM & CM) completion rates within the area in order to maximize equipment utilization rates and reliability.
    • To ensure that Linde transport maintenance standards and procedures are implemented and executed within the area (to include contract carriers).
    • Manage and audit local compliance to the enterprise maintenance management system (SAP PM), including underlying processes, maintenance procedures, and procurement policies.
    • To champion continued process improvement (CPI) and lean initiatives for fleet maintenance shops with special emphasis on 5s implementation & sustainment

    What you will enjoy doing:

    • Work with the reliability and performance systems platforms to analyze reliability data in order to set best operating practices and to drive improvement in the areas of greatest impact.
    • Manage and ensure strict compliance to the Linde EMOC program for fleet equipment within assigned geographic area.
    • Aggressively identify and pursue Growth and Productivity (GAP) opportunities within the area throughout the scope of transport activities and participate in the project scoping and execution to realize these opportunities
    • Provide guidance to locations with the management of parts inventory and related purchases and warranty recovery.
    • Work with managers and Procurement to identify regional vendor needs, and to ensure that all maintenance and supply agreements are managed to ensure maximum benefit to the area.
    • Provide input into the annual budgeting process for Capex (minor/major, GDE) and maintenance expense planning requirements.
    • Ensure that all purchasing guidelines and programs are utilized by the locations.
    • Support the managers in attracting, hiring, and providing professional development of new maintenance employees.
    • Ensuring proper operation of On-Board recorders and telematics systems in order to ensure compliance to regulatory and safety requirements.
    • Manage training needs and opportunities for the region’s maintenance technicians.
    • Actively manage the on-boarding of new equipment purchases within the area in order to drive reliability and cost containment
    • Ensure adherence to safe working practices and site safety rules for all maintenance work.
    • Ensure consistent application of tools, processes, standards, policies and procedures across the area.
    • Evaluate the technical ability and quality fleet maintenance technicians as well as outside vendors to ensure best value for the organization.
    • Coordinate the refurbishment process of trailers within the area and eliminate obsolete equipment.
    • Perform site reliability reviews and equipment assessments; monitor action plans to reduce and eliminate identified risks.
    • Oversee the rectification of failed equipment including MOC, equipment outage decision making and root cause analysis.
    • Any and all other tasks and projects as directed.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • Budget management and development experience
    • Education and Training skills to ensure current policies and procedures are followed
    • Presentation skills to “sell” groups on new and innovative processes or technology to take safety, maintenance, & performance to the next level
    • Time management skills to be able to manage multiple projects for multiple departments
    • Candidates must have strong collaborative, team building, and change management capabilities

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 10 plus years of cryogenic industry experience required

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years of cryogenic industry experience preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management required

    Other Qualifications:

    • Industrial gas transport equipment specifying/maintenance/repair experience
    • Experience with DOT licensing and permits including those specific to industrial gas transportation
    • Experience with EPA and OSHA regulations pertaining to shop and transport equipment/cryogenic tanker repairs/maintenance/operation
    • Continuous Process Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) experience
    • Intimate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point
    • Knowledge of SAP
    • Superior organizational skills
